Wade Johnston to Give Keynote Address at 2nd Annual Meeting

September 9, 2016Wade Johnston of Green Umbrella Regional Sustainability Alliance will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation on Friday, November 4, 2016. The event will be held at the Kent State University at Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center in New Philadelphia at 6:00 PM.
Mr. Johnston is the Regional Trails Coordinator for Tri-State Trails, and initiative of Green Umbrella. An avid commuter cyclist and outdoor enthusiast, Wade is working to change people's everyday interaction with the built environment and the outdoors in the Greater Cincinnati region. Wade earned his Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning with a focus on multi-modal transportation, Geographic Information Science, and public relations. Prior to joining Green Umbrella, Wade worked for several years as a planning and zoning consultant in the private sector. In addition to cycling, Wade also enjoys backpacking, camping, and rock climbing.
Tri-State Trails is a coalition of trail advocates, a physical network of trails, and a vision to connect the Greater Cincinnati region. Formerly known as the Green Umbrella Regional Trails Alliance, Tri-State Trails unites advocates, leaders, and stakeholders in a collaborative discussion on active transportation and outdoor recreation. Tri-State Trails believes that trails enhance our region's communities, resulting in healthier residents and stronger economies. Its mission is to conect people and places via a regional trails network that promotes vibrant communities through equitable access to active transportation and outdoor recreation.
