Playground and Ranger Vehicle Grants Awarded

June 10, 2011

At their meeting on April 22nd, the trustees of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation awarded 3 grants totalling more than $12,000. Two of the grants were awarded through the Foundation's Charitable Endowment Fund, and will provide play equipment at two marina facilities. A new swing set will be purchased and installed at Leesville North Fork Marina, while campers and their children at Piedmont Marina will be enjoying a new playground unit to be installed later this summer. A grant from the James R. Pitney Fund will help make possible the purchase of a new ranger vehicle at Charles Mill Lake Park. Jim Pitney, a ranger at the park, was tragically killed in the line of duty. The Pitney Fund, established in Jim's memory, provides funds for law enforcement equipment and training in the Charles Mill and Pleasant Hill areas. To make your tax-deductible donation to the Pitney Fund on-line, click here, or contact John Olivier.
