Foundation Awards 2 Grants

May 27, 2015

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation (MWCF) Board of Trustees approved grants to the North Central Ohio Safe Boating Council (NCOSBC) and Carrollton Village Fire Department (CVFD) at its quarterly Board meeting. The Trustees approved a grant in the amount of $500 to the NCOSBC to support the 2015 North Central Ohio Safe Boating and Fishing Festival, which will be held on June 13, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Lake Park. The 11th annual event is free and open to the public, offering pontoon and boat rides, kayaking, fishing opportunities for children, and water safety displays. The festival encourages water safety and provides children the opportunity to learn and experience boating and fishing.

The CVFD was awarded $2,106 for the acquisition of an ice rescue sled kit to augment its safety and rescue services in Carroll County. The grant will help support the further development of the CVFD Multi Emergency Rapid Intervention Team.

The MWCF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the mission of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD). While the MWCF is completely independent from the MWCD, with its own Board of Trustees, it has developed charitable funds that support improvements and programs on and around MWCD facilities. Since 2004, the MWCF has awarded nearly $300,000 for 64 projects throughout the Muskingum Watershed. For more information on the MWCF, please visit www.muskingumfoundation.org or contact Nick Lautzenheiser toll-free at (877) 363-8500 ext. 2506.
