Foundation Awards 100th Grant

By

March 16, 2018

The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation Board of Trustees awarded its 100th grant at its meeting on January 26, 2018. The Board of Trustees awarded $2,015 to the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District to support its Watershed Education Experience project. This project will include in-class curricula for seventh grade students and teachers and field trips where students can receive hands-on instruction on water quality, macroinvertebrates, and biodiversity. The program will focus on five schools in the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District in 2018; additional schools may be included in future years.

The Board of Trustees also awarded $2,850 to Pleasant Hill Lake Park to support the 2018 Safe Boating and Fishing Festival, which will be held on June 9, 2018. The Safe Boating and Fishing Festival promotes boater safety and education and provides the public free boating and fishing opportunities, as well as free lifejackets to children.

Since 2004, the Foundation has awarded 100 grants totaling more than $350,000.
